May Events
Hello comrades! With a new month upon us and spring FINALLY in full bloom, there are increasing opportunities to get involved with Akron DSA and other organizations in our community. Here are some of the events coming up – hope to see you there!
May 4-8 – Akron Organizing Collaborative is hosting a May Day Week of Action to push for more signatures for the Neighborhood Safety, Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Amendment. If you want to volunteer to get signatures or have a filled book to turn in, sign up for an event here.
May 5 – DSA Cleveland hosts a Medicare for All Informational Town Hall and The W.O.M.B’s Bar Crawl to Free the People, collecting signatures for above amendment.
May 9 – DSA Planning Meeting for anyone looking to step up and get more involved in DSA projects.
May 16 – May General Membership Meeting for more training before our Medicare for All canvass!
May 23 – Socialist Feminist Working Group Meeting focusing on women’s health.
May 26 – Our First Medicare for All Canvassing Event!

Akron Pride is coming up quickly in August – we have a table registered and plan to have a huge presence this year at Pride – if you want to get involved, now is the time!
Akron Food Not Bombs hosts a food-share each Sunday in Grace Park.
