Akron DSA Signs on to Call for Ohio Public Officials to Break Their Silence On COVID-19 Racism

Ohio Progressive Asian Women’s Leadership delivered a letter to public officials throughout the state of Ohio signed by 149 Ohio organizations, including Akron DSA, urging them to take a stand against racist attacks and discrimination toward the Chinese and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in the wake of the global coronavirus pandemic.  Akron DSA remains committed to anti-racist work.

Akron DSA Signs on to  Call for State-Wide Eviction and Utility Shut-Off Moratorium

Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless delivered a letter to the Governor’s office signed by 80 organizations from across Ohio, including Akron DSA, calling for a state-wide moratorium on evictions and utility shut-offs, and an immediate influx of emergency housing funding.  Akron DSA continues to organize to pressure all levels of government to find people-first solutions to COVID-19 related hardships.
